West residents have until June 11 to pick up their pets from the Waco Humane Animal Shelter. If the animal is not picked up by then, it will be put up for adoption or placed in foster care.
The Waco Humane Animal Shelter is doing this for the health and safety of the animal by preventing them from developing cage aggression. This happens when an animal is locked up and kept out of its previous surroundings for a prolonged period of time.
The shelter says that none of these animals will be put down if they are not picked up or adopted.
If you wish to adopt or foster any of the 260 animals picked up after the April 17th explosion, you can contact the Waco Animal Shelter at 254-754-1454.
