WACO, TX — Due to expected rain, McLennan baseball and softball games have been pushed to Thursday.

But, Head Coach Chris Berry isn't too upset. The Highlassies now have an extra day to prepare for the former JUCO National Champions and the team leading the league, Temple College.

The first time the two teams met this season, the double header didn't go quite like McLennan would've liked for it to go. Temple won both games handedly.

Therefore, the Highlassies are focusing on letting the game come to them, actually having fun and playing attention to/perfecting the little details of their game.

"This team didn't win a National Championship. This team hasn't been there. That was last year, and you've got to be able to separate those things out. But, getting kids to play relaxed and play the game, not the opponent, that's a big learning curve for us. I think Temple probably does that better than anyone in our league right now," Head Coach Chris Berry said.

"Congratulations to them and everything, that's awesome. But, I think it motivates us. I makes us, not want to play harder, but it kinda lights a fire. We're just as good as anybody else out here, whether they won the championship last year or not. Everybody's gonna go out there and give it their all. It intimidates a lot of people, but I would say it kinda fuels our team," Sophia Wideman, a freshman first baseman/catcher for the Highlassies, said.

Wideman added Temple is one of the rowdiest teams McLennan plays all year. She believes it will be vital for the Highlassies to match their energy if they want to make it a game come Thursday.
