WACO, TX — Reba Lou Weaver Campbell passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5. She was 95 years old.
Campbell was married to Dave Campbell of Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
Reba worked at the Waco Tribune for 10 years and was an inspiration to women journalists. She wanted to do more than just write the society pages - she was a news reporter and feature writer.
During her career, she covered President Dwight Eisenhower's journey in Texas. After her career in journalism, she became a lecturer at Baylor University.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 9, at Austin Ave. United Methodist Church. A graveside service for family and close friends will precede the memorial. A visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
