LAMPASAS, TX — An Austin-based nonprofit is building a tiny house in Lampasas to support their charity.

Building Compassion steps into people’s lives when life changing circumstances lead to inadequate housing. They have assisted countless families in need over the past decade.

“This year we decided we needed to invest in building compassion. It’s easy for us to go into a family for a local family because people are always really interested in helping out. And we’ve seen it happen over and over again. When it comes to operating costs, that’s not so attractive to raise money for,” said Scott Lansing, of Building Compassion.

They decided to build a tiny house to sell or rent to support income for the charity.

Tiny house builds come with challenges. Everything from painting to plumbing must be handled strategically because of the small scale. They have enlisted the help of college students to get the job done.

They are seeking volunteers to assist with their projects. For more information, visit their website.
