The owner of a Mexican restaurant in Indiana is speaking out after a KKK flag was found hanging above her business.

Pamela Flores, owner of Las Catrinas Mexican Restaurant, says through her translator that there is no place for hate in her town of Bremen, Indiana.

Flores' business had been open for just over a month when her and her husband noticed a flag gaining a lot of attention in the apartments above her restaurant.

"She says she noticed people sometimes walking by, taking pictures, but she had no clue what the flag really meant," said Vanessa Martinez, Las Catrinas Assistant Manager and Flores' translator.

Flores says she and her family were upset when they found out it stood for the Ku Klux Klan.

There are two other Mexican restaurants in the same block.

People in the community were quick to show support and they were able to retrieve the flag from the vacant apartment.

"She just, she feels sad that it was done to her, especially when it was up right in front of the restaurant," said Martinez.

Flores says she's thankful so many people stood by their side.

"We don't want that here, and Bremen is a family-oriented community and we just want everybody to feel like we're all together here, we're all a big family," said Martinez.

Flores says there's no hate towards whoever placed the flag above her restaurant.

"She doesn't know your reason why you did it, and maybe the only person who knows is God. She just wants to send that person blessings," said Martinez.

She also wants that person to know that the doors to Las Catrinas will always be open to them.
