GA high school warns parents that students are drinking vanilla extract to get drunk

ATLANTA, GA — A high school in Georgia is warning parents after it was discovered some of their students have been drinking vanilla extract to get drunk.

Henry W. Grady High School in Atlanta asked parents to be aware of products like Trader Joe's pure bourbon vanilla extract that contains 35 percent alcohol.

According to ABC News, students are mixing the extract with coffee from Starbucks and come to school intoxicated. One student at the high school had to be taken to the emergency room after consuming so much of the vanilla.
