MEXIA, TX — Two men have been arrested after an argument escalated to crash that left home without power in Mexia.

The incident begin around 9:30 a.m. on January 13 in the parking lot of Ruby's Food Mart.

Officials say an altercation between two men resulted in gunfire and a subsequent vehicle crash that left a home without power.

20-year-old Sergio Santoyo, Jr. of Mexia was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawfully carrying a firearm on a premises which serves alcohol.

20-year-old Myron Cal Phillips, Jr. of Mexia was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Both have been transported to the Limestone County Jail.

The Mexia Police Department considers this incident an open investigation, and says additional charges are possible.
