GEORGETOWN, TX — Two children ran away from two men who tried to lure them into a car but could not give the family safe word, according to the Georgetown Police Department.
Officers responded to a suspicious circumstance call in the 2000 block of Cliffbrake Way on April 13.
The caller told police dispatch his 11-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter came home around 7:30 p.m. and told him someone tried to get them into a car.
The caller said his two children were riding their bikes around the 1000 block of Cliffbrake Way. His son told him a blue Mini Cooper with two men inside pulled up next to them.
The driver allegedly told the children their mom sent him to pick them up and take them home since dinner was ready. The son asked for the family safe word, but the driver could not give it to them so both children ran home.
The son told his father he could see a roll of duct tape and a blue sweatshirt in the backseat. The child could only describe the driver as wearing a black shirt with jeans and possibly 30 to 40-years-old.
After hearing this, the father drove the area looking for the vehicle but could not find it.
