LIMESTONE COUNTY, TX — Two men were arrested Friday after operating a jet ski while intoxicated on Lake Limestone.

Limestone County Game Warden Dustin Delgado says he received a call from the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office on April 17 regarding a possible jet ski accident that occurred on Lake Limestone.

Several lakefront residents reported two men were in the water hanging onto a flipped over jet ski near Cedar Creek Cove.

Before officers arrived on scene, both subjects were rescued by another boat and taken to shore for safety.

Warden Delgado and Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy Mayfield arrived on scene and conducted interviews with both men.

The jet ski operator had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol, according to Warden Delgado.

Due to signs of possible intoxication, the operator was detained for further investigation.

The operator failed SFST’s and was placed under arrest for boating while intoxicated.

Warden Delgado says he discovered a glass marijuana pipe located inside of the operator’s sweatshirt pocket.

The driver also admitted to stealing alcoholic beverages from his grandfather’s lake house.

Both subjects admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages and smoking marijuana before operating the jet ski, according to the Limestone County Sheriff's Office.

The two men was transported to the Limestone County Jail and booked in for boating while intoxicated (Class B Misdemeanor).

Additional cases filed included possession of drug paraphernalia and no boater’s education.
