Some school districts are providing meals to students during extended spring break

School districts are setting up meal options for students during the extended spring break.

Here is a list of districts offering grab and go meals. If your school district is not listed, consult your district's website or social media pages.

To help families with children find food sites in their local communities, the Baylor University Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty has also launched a website that provides a running list of school closures accompanied by the meals schools will have available. The COVID-19 TX Food Resource website is available here.

Belton ISD School Nutrition will serve grab-and-go meals twice a day to students 18-years-old and under during this extended break at three campus locations. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. to students starting March 16.
The locations will be:

  • BISD - Miller Heights Elementary
  • Joe M. Pirtle Elementary School
  • BISD - Southwest Elementary

Bryan ISD: A no-cost “grab and go lunch” will be available for all Bryan ISD students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 16-20 at Bryan High School, Long Intermediate, Rayburn Intermediate and Kemp-Carver Elementary School.

College Staion ISD: will serve lunch at no cost to students ages 1-18 March 16-20. Students from any CSISD campus can pick up a meal at the front door of the following campuses between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. - South Knoll, College Hills, Southwood Valley, River Bend and Oakwood. Beginning, Tuesday, March 17, students who pick up a lunch will also receive a breakfast in a bag for the following day. In addition, the Brazos Valley Food Bank will be at the five campus locations during the same two-hour window to provide non-perishable food items for families to take home.

Goldthwaite CISD will offer breakfast/lunch pick up for all free & reduced students. Please pull through the pick up lane at GES & receive a to go breakfast/lunch. GES pick up time is 7:30-8 AM; GMS and GHS is 8-8:30AM. Those picking up need to identify the student or have the student with them.

Killeen ISD: Beginning Tue, March 17, free breakfast & free lunch will be served each day to all children ages 0-18. Various locations have been designated as pick-up points regardless of enrollment & economic status. Children must be present in order to pick-up food. Locations can be found here.

La Vega ISD campuses will offer a free Drive Thru Breakfast from 6:30 to 8:30 am and a free Drive Thru Lunch from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm each weekday while they are closed. The drive-thru will be at the front entrance to the school. Please have your children in the vehicle with you. These meals will be provided to anyone 18 years or younger.

Mart ISD: Beginning Monday, March 16, Mart ISD will provide breakfast from 9am-10am, and lunch from 12:30pm-1:30pm. These meals will be served out of the high school cafeteria and can be picked up to-go by any Mart ISD student free of charge. Any student that does not have transportation, but that would still like to receive a meal, should fill out the form found at the link below. We understand that everyone may not have access to technology, so please help us spread the word. Delivery can also be arranged by calling Betsy Burnett at (254) 722-3793."

Midway ISD will have curbside pick up locations at Castleman Creek Elementary, Hewitt Elementary, and Speegleville Elementary open from 8:00-9:00 a.m. for breakfast and 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for lunch. Your child must be in the vehicle with you.

Temple ISD will arrange for breakfast and lunch to be offered each day next week (March 16-20) to all students no matter economic status or attending campus. Our feeding program will take place at the following elementary campuses: Jefferson, Western Hills, Scott, Meridith-Dunbar and Thornton. Any student in TISD is welcome to participate at any of our campus locations. Breakfast times will run from 7:30 am - 8:30 am and lunch will run from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.

Valley Mills ISD will provide meals for all VMISD students during the closure. Meals will be served curbside at one location, the Elementary school in the drop-off circle. One lunch meal and one breakfast meal (for the next day) will be provided for each child in the vehicle. Meals will be available from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, beginning March 17th. Parents are requested to remain in their car as they drive through to pick up meals.
Please notify the district by direct message, before 3pm, Monday, March 16th, if you are not able to pickup meals.

Waco ISD will be providing free “grab and go” breakfasts and lunches for any child between 1 and 18-years-old. Breakfasts will be available for curbside pickup from 8 to 9:30 a.m., and lunches will be available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Both breakfast and lunch will be available Monday through Friday at all of the following locations:
• Bledsoe Miller Community Center (300 N. Martin Luther King Blvd.),
• Calvary Baptist Church (1001 N. 18th A St.),
• Doris Miller Family YMCA (1020 Elm St.),
• Estella Maxey Place (1809 J.J. Flewellen),
• Highland Baptist Church (3014 Maple Ave.),
• Kate Ross Housing Authority (937 S. 11th St.),
• Lake Shore Baptist Church (5801 Bishop Dr.),
• Meadowbrook Baptist Church (1207 N. Old Robinson Rd.),
• Park Lake Drive Baptist Church (3701 N. 27th St.),
• South Terrace Community Center (2615 S. 12th St.),
• St. Louis Catholic Church (2001 N. 25th St.), and
• Waco Family YMCA (6800 Harvey Dr.).
These free meals are available to all children in the Greater Waco area regardless of where they attend school. Please note, however, that each child must be present to receive a meal. More info at: wacoisd.org/COVID19

Connally ISD will provide breakfast and lunch at 4 locations (curbside pick up or student walk-up). Children ages 0-18. One meal per child and CHILD MUST BE PRESENT to receive a meal! For all parents picking up meals, each child must be in your vehicle in order to receive a meal.
