COMANCHE, TX — Misplaced milk products led to a police investigation into reported price gouging at a Texas grocery store.

The Comanche Police Department received a report of price gouging at the Brookshire's grocery store Thursday.

Following an investigation, officers learned the excessive buying at the store by customers had moved some of the milk products to the section where the Hiland Dairy Organic Milk is displayed.

The price of Hiland Dairy Organic Milk is about $6 a gallon, while the brand that was displayed or moved by the public is $3.49 a gallon.

The department determined no price gouging occurred.

The department is asking the public to be patient and remain calm as Brookshire's is experiencing shortages of several grocery items and restocking as quick as possible.
