Pipes hanging out of car hit deputy's vehicle in Golinda

Multiple accidents reported across Central Texas during snowy Thursday morning

GOLINDA, TX — The Department of Public Safety is reporting numerous accidents in our area.

Around 7:55 a.m., a crash occurred on US-77 near Woodland Drive, in Golinda.

A Jeep SUV traveling northbound drove over ice, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into the barrier. The driver was transported to Baylor Scott and White to be treated for a possible injury.

Another incident happened in the same area 5 minutes later.

A Nissan passenger car traveling southbound had approximately six feet of pipe extending from the rear passenger window. As the vehicle approached a McLennan County Deputy Patrol Vehicle, the pipes struck the left side of the deputy’s vehicle. The driver of the Nissan will be cited.

No injuries were reported.
