McLennan County Special Election
Proposition A – Zoo Facilities
The issuance of $14,545,000 of general obligation bonds by McLennan County, Texas for Zoo Facilities and the levying of a tax in Payment thereof.
This will be a bond election for the expansion of Cameron Park Zoo. This expansion will include a penguin exhibit, a veterinary clinic and an educational complex. This bond is considered “tax-rate neutral,” meaning it will not require a tax increase.
McLennan County
Midway Independent School District
Proposition A
The issuance of $148,000,000 of bonds by the Midway Independent School District for the acquisition, construction, renovation and equipment of school facilities in the district and levying the tax in payment thereof.

McLennan County
West Independent School District Special Election
Proposition A
The issuance of $21,485,000 of bonds by West Independent School District for the acquisition, construction, renovation and equipment of school buildings, to include a new elementary school, including athletic facilities and school site and levying a tax sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on such bonds.
Voters in West will decide on a $21 million dollar bond aimed at building a new elementary school.
Maggie Sughrue is a volunteer parent at West Elementary School and says that the school is falling apart and has other problems.
"Concerns with the facility itself, the electrical issues, the water seepage issues, the flooding issues," Sughrue said.
This is the second year in a row voters in West will head to the polls to vote on a school bond.
