Mexia ISD's Athletic Director resigns, police department concludes investigation related to resignation

MEIXA, Texas — Brady Bond, Mexia ISD's Athletic Director/Head Football Coach, has resigned effective immediately.

According to a press release issued Friday evening by Mexia's City Manager, Eric Garretty, the Mexia Police Department "has opened an inquiry into the facts and circumstances regarding an incident related to the resignation."

The following Monday, however, the Mexia Police Department said no arrests or detainment had been made with the ongoing inquiry, additionally, no reports have been made regarding any members of the student body.

"In reference to the on-going inquiry into the facts and circumstances related to the voluntary resignation of the former Mexia ISD Athletic Director/Head Football Coach, the Mexia Police Department has not received any report of involvement of any juvenile or any member of the Mexia ISD student body," said the release on Monday.

Additionally, as the inquiry was concluded on Tuesday, the police department determined that no violation of Texas Law and no criminal offense occurred. Complainants were contacted and notified of the results.

"The MPD considers this inquiry closed, without further action, based on the information obtained by the MPD Investigator during the course of the inquiry," said the Mexia Police Department.
