MARBLE FALLS, TX — According to officials, a Marble Falls police officer died early Friday morning in a motorcycle accident on his way to work.
The City of Marble Falls released a statement identifying the driver as Officer Andrew Howe.
According to The Daily Trib, a Hill Country news organization, Officer Howe was from Leander and a two-year veteran of the Marble Falls Police Department. He had previously served 10 years with the Richardson Police Department.
The crash occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. in the 5000 block of RM 143. The Daily Trib reported Howe was then transported by Marble Falls Area EMS to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Marble Falls, where Burnet County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Debbie Bindseil pronounced him dead at 6:41 a.m.
Many local and county officials and sheriff's offices have sent condolences to the the Marble Falls police on social media.
