GRANITE SHOALS, TX — A man has been arrested for illegal dumping after failing to bring a property to code.

According to the Granite Shoals Police Department, on August 18, Levi Baay was arrested for illegal dumping less than 1,000 pounds/200 cubic feet, a state jail felony.

On April 10, an investigation was started by Burnet County Precint 4 Constable Missy Bindseil and then-Investigator Chris Cowan.

Granite Shoals PD says Baay had been contacted by the City of Granite Shoals Code Enforcement Department. which is under the oversight of the Granite Shoals Police Department.

Baay allegedly failed to comply with Code Enforcement requests to bring the property into compliance with Code Ordinances in a requested period of time and due to the "significant" amount of trash, debris, and other objectionable material.

Granite Shoals PD says the department and Code Enforcement are committed to working cooperatively with property owners to develop solutions to bring properties to compliance.
