UPDATE 10/16:
The City of Temple further clarified the situation on a water sample:
UPDATE: Additional test results indicate the sample itself was contaminated while being collected. The actual water in the system does not have E. coli present and has been shown to meet drinking water standards.
The City of Temple announced on Thursday it rescinded its boil water notice after the public water system took the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of water after receiving a positive sampling of E. coli.
The city says the public water system used for drinking water or human consumption has provided the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality with lab results that show the water no longer requires boiling as of October 16.
