GATESVILLE, TX — One Gatesville church is getting creative when it comes to social distancing.

In an email sent to churchgoers, Director of Children's Ministries Karie Bartlett announced Trinity Baptist Church will use colored bracelets to signify a person's level of comfort when it comes to physical interaction.

Bartlett said there are several members of the church who need to continue to follow social distancing guidelines due to age or health concerns.

The red, yellow and green bracelets will indicate a person's comfort level when it comes to social distancing.

According to the church, red means that person is a waver. Yellow means the wearer is comfortable with a fist bump or elbow bump. A green bracelet signifies the person is open to hugs.

Bartlett said the bracelets are optional and will help children understand a person's comfort level during these times.

Governor Abbott's Strike Force encourages churchgoers to minimize in-person contact with others not in the individual’s household to the extent possible. For more on the state's recommendations, click here.
