WACO, TX — DeLisa Russell, who was once the Executive Director of Veterans One Stop in Waco, has been named Executive Director of The Right Step in Houston, an addiction treatment center.

Russell is a licensed social worker and professional counselor. She has worked on issues related to addiction within the military, religious community and in private practice.

She's developed nationally recognized programs used by all branches of the Department of Defense, and worked with the legislature at the state and national level on veterans' issues.

“With an extensive background in mental health and addiction treatment, DeLisa brings valuable skills and leadership to The Right Step Houston,” said Kirk Kureska, CEO of Promises Behavioral Health.

The Right Step Houston is a medical detox and inpatient and outpatient treatment center for substance use disorders. The facility is described as a private home-like setting that allows people to work on underlying issues that can fuel drug and alcochol abuse. It's owned by Promises Behavioral Health, which operates 11 facilities across the country.

“I’m impressed by the high standard of evidence-based care that The Right Step Houston provides clients and their families, and I’m looking forward to changing even more lives through recovery," said Russell.
