MARLIN, TX — WARNING, GRAPHIC CONTENT: Former Marlin Chief of Police confessed to having sex with a woman while on duty, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to DPS, a woman reported that Sodek exposed his penis to her in late April or early May 2019 without her consent.
DPS says on August 13, a Texas Ranger interviewed Sodek, who confessed to having sexual intercourse with the woman at Marlin City Park while on duty in his police vehicle.
In a follow-up interview, DPS says the woman said she felt coerced to allow Sodek to have sex with her due to a pending criminal charge that was being investigated by the Marlin Police Department. DPS says the woman believed she was meeting Sodek to retrieve her state issued identification card, which was in the possession of the Marlin Police Department.
According to DPS, the woman said Sodek told her "nobody needs to find out," about them having sex. Sodek allegedly also told the woman to contact him later so the woman could receive proof that she would not be arrested again.
