COPPERAS COVE, TX — Teachers from Clements Parsons Elementary school in Copperas Cove did something special for their students Thursday.

“We are doing a wave parade for our school community. It’s voluntary, they’re coming and decorating our vehicles,” said Principal Katherine Baney. “Kids are instructed to stay at their doors so they can see their teachers and principals and councilors even though we can’t see each other close up.”

“This has been very difficult on us because we are used to seeing them every day. So, we just want to show our love and show them that we think about them often,” said Sheila Wright, a 2nd grade teacher.

“It’s still important, now more than ever, that we got this communities back and we can do this together, and we’re here for kids still,” said Baney.

“Little tiny humans do still have adult thought and emotions and feelings. So just be there to support them and let them know that you’re are there for them,” said Audrey Trahan, a school counselor.

“It shows their faithfulness to the students and commitment to the students, and we really appreciate that,” said one parent.

“We miss them too that they’re not the only ones that miss us,” said Trahan.

“Just know how much we love them and know how much we miss them,” said Wright.

“I love you each. I care about every single one of you and we cannot wait to see you again,” said Baney.

The teachers and staff that participated said they needed to show the students that we are all in this together and they are still there for their student even from a far.
