WACO — Local photographers have joined together to raise money for one Central Texas Family.
Robby Wachsmann started his new year in a hospital room with pain in his colon. After doctors brought him into surgery and tests were done, he was diagnosed with colon cancer.
His sister-in-law, Lindsey Wachsmann, decided to ask photographers in the community to donate their time, taking pictures of people in mini sessions. The money raised for the sessions will go towards Wachsmann's hospital bills.
The sessions are on a donation basis, whatever the client feels like giving is all they can ask for.
Wachsmann has gone through his first round of chemo at the beginning of February, although a tough hill to climb he looks to God when getting through each day.
Going through extreme radiation and chemotherapy, he was given a 5 to 10 percent chance of it clearing.
His family hopes that because he is so young and strong the chances of the chemo working are higher in their minds.
At 35-years-old, with 5 kids, he loves to spend time with his community, going to church and being with his family as much as he possibly can.
Their slogan "Fight for Five" is because of his five kids. Wachsmann feels he isn't only fighting cancer for himself but his family as well.
