WACO, TX — A breast cancer survivor is using her experience to help others on their journeys.
Soynia Childers decided to make a lifelong dream come true in starting an event planning business during her breast cancer battle.
Childers now uses her business, and her story, to help others in similar situations.
“My friend will say 'Hey, my friend has been diagnosed with cancer. They're doing a benefit. Can you donate gift cards? Can you donate linens, anything?' I'm all for it because I know what we went through and it's hard," said Childers. "Even though we had the best insurance...insurance doesn't always pay for everything. So, if I'm able to give back to someone who is going through cancer, I'll definitely do that."
Childers also added a message for anyone battling cancer.
“Just keep going. Don’t give up. There’s help out there," said Childers. "There’s someone you can lean on...You can even message me! Don’t give up on what you’ve already started. Keep going. Just keep going.”
