BRYAN, TX — Bryan ISD is one step closer to selling the old administration building.

The Bryan School Board declared the Travis Education Support Center to be a surplus property this week, the first step in selling the property.

"Right now we know that there is a lot of interest in downtown Bryan. So the time seems right to move the building and put it back up for sale. For us though, we don't have a need for that building anymore and that's why the school board declared it surplus at the meeting on Monday. Despite housing special ed offices there, we have other areas for them, so there's really no need for Bryan ISD to have that building anymore," stated Matthew LeBlanc, Bryan ISD Executive Director of Communications.

Currently, the building is being used by the Special Ed. Department, but the plan is for them to move out by the end of the summer and move into a wing of the former Milam Elementary School.
