BRAZOS COUNTY, TX — Brazos County has issued a shelter-in-place order after confirming 12 cases of COVID-19.

The new Amended Order has the addition of the Definition of “Essential Services” incorporating the language of Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-14, along with the website that helps citizens and businesses to determine if they are engaging in “Essential Services,” and a mechanism to request “Essential Services” designation.

This amended order is effective through April 30, 2020, just as the Governor’s Executive Order GA-14.

Individuals are not allowed to leave their homes except for essential activities, government activities or essential business.

The order goes into effect at 9 p.m. March 24 but officials recommend you start immediately.

Essential jobs include grocery stores, restaurants and gas stations, auto supplies stores, construction stores, ect.

You can get exercise outside, but practice social distancing.

All non-essential businesses should close and allow teleworking to the fullest ability.
