WACO, TX — A Central Texas business is serving up milkshakes while giving back to a nonprofit.
Unshakeable Milkshakes is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting Sunshine Recovery House, a long term recovery setting for women struggling with addiction.
Summer Shine decided to use Unshakeable as an opportunity to employ residents of Sunshine Recovery House.
Daphny Milligan, an employee in recovery, says the business means “bein Unshakeable and fighting your addiction, representing recovery, being happy, having another chance.”
Milligan has been working at Unshakeable for a month now.
Megan Bell works alongside Milligan at the milkshake shop.
Her reasons for working at Unshakeable comes from a place of giving back to the place that gave so much to her.
Bell says Sunshine Recovery House gave her the sober community she never had.
Unshakeable Milkshakes’ commitment to Sunshine Recovery House goes beyond passing along proceeds, it means more opportunities and more community involvement.
