WACO, TX — This month, local celebrities will deliver lunches to seniors as part of March for Meals.
Baylor University President Linda Livingstone and Waco Fire Department Chief Bobby Tatum are among the people who will deliver meals this month.
The Meals on Wheels campaign aims to raise awareness of the service the nonprofit provides to seniors in the community.
According to Meals on Wheels Waco Executive Director Deborah King, the funding has not kept up with the demand of home-delivered meals.
Currently, there are 97 seniors on a waiting list.
She said $35 can help provide meals for one senior for a week.
