WACO, TX — Magnolia Network's new series will not include Chip and Joanna, but instead follow husband-wife members of the band JOHNNYSWIM on the road as they tour North America with their children and crew.
This will be Discovery, Inc and Chip and Joanna Gaines first original series for the couple’s upcoming Magnolia network. The show will be called Home on the Road (WT).
JOHNNYSWIM band members, husband and wife Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez, are described as "magnetic."
They will tour North America with their two kids, Joaquin, 4, and daughter Luna, 12 months, along with their crew and show viewers glimpses of how they balance their marriage, life and dream on the road.
The show will also capture the culture, stories and food of the cities they play.
The group is on their tour bus several weeks at a time, traveling the country in what they call their, "small apartment on wheels."
“When you’re on the road as much as we are, time spent at home starts to feel a lot like vacation,” said Abner and Amanda. “We decided early on that we want to spend as much time together as possible…so when we go on tour, we all go on tour."
The series will be six episodes and is set to premiere October 2020.
Amanda and Abner have been touring together as JOHNNYSWIM since 2005. Their full road family includes their two kids, eight band and crew members.
Additional programming information will be announced in the coming months for the new Magnolia network.
