CAMERON, TX — Cameron ISD officials say they placed all of their schools on soft lockdown today, suspending dismissal for a time, after law enforcement officials informed them of a potential threat in the area.
They say authorities told the district about the possibility of an armed and dangerous person near the city of Cameron.
Once district officials confirmed with law enforcement that the threat did not include Cameron and that authorities had secured the streets of the city, Cameron ISD lifted the lockdown and dismissed students as usual.
