DALLAS, TX — The Dallas Morning News reports Dallas police found a key witness in the Amber Guyger murder trial shot at an apartment complex near the medical district.
The News reports, Investigators say, Joshua Brown, a former neighbor to Botham Jean and Guyger at the South Side Flats Apartments, was shot about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 46-hundred block of Cedar Springs Road.
Brown testified about the night Jean was killed -- with prosecutors in the case praising Brown for coming forward when no one else would. He broke down on the witness stand during his testimony.
According to The News, witnesses flagged down police and directed them to Brown's body, where officers found him with several gunshot wounds.
Paramedics rushed him to Parkland Memorial Hospital where, he later died, as a result of his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
