Leslee Lacey joined 25 News in January 2026 as the Meteorologist for Good Morning Texas.
Leslee comes to KXXV as an experienced Meteorologist with a strong well rounded journalism background. Most recently she left the coastal areas of Florida in lieu of the drier summers and cooler winters of Central Texas.
While covering severe weather in the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area, Leslee had the rare opportunity to forecast a category three hurricane, as the eye passed over her building. She had to evacuate WWSB ABC 7 and forecast remotely due to Hurricane Milton making landfall in the Siesta Key area. Leslee's severe weather forecasting has helped keep the Tampa Bay area safe during Hurricane's Ian, Helene, Milton and many others over her tenure as a reporter and Meteorologist in the Tampa Bay area.
While at WFLA NBC 8 in Tampa, Leslee anchored wall-to-wall coverage of Hurricane Irma and covered the aftermath and relief efforts of Hurricane Maria in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Leslee's investigative work in St. Croix, uncovered a communication gap between hurricane victims and the Corp of Engineers regarding roof inspections. Through her storytelling the CoE began implementing notices which allowed victims to see whether their roofs had been inspected, shortening the time victims were waiting under hazardous conditions. Leslee also covered the relief efforts in the aftermath of the F-5 Moore, Oklahoma tornado.
Leslee began her career in the United States Army as a Broadcast Journalist. Her roots began in Los Angeles as a radio news and sports reporter on KABC, KRLA, and KSPN. She covered national stories for Metro Networks in Los Angeles, including the Malibu Fires, the 911 attacks, and the Robert Blake trial. Leslee also spent years as a red carpet reporter for Metro Networks National News Wire. Upon first arriving in Tampa from Los Angeles, Leslee was a sports reporter, traffic anchor and transportation and travel reporter.
Mid-way through Leslee's broadcast career the weather bug bit her hard. She always had an interest in science. So to add to her Broadcast Journalism degree and Visual Anthropology degree at the University of Southern California, Leslee studied Meteorology at Mississippi State.
On a personal level, Leslee was an actress in the 90s and has a love of movies and art. She is also an avid World Cup soccer fan, a Buccaneer football fan and a classic car, travel and science enthusiast. She is a self certified crazy cat lady, and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. Huah!
