The White House is set to recognize a collaboration between Baylor University and a division of the McLane Group for their work in feeding children in rural areas during the pandemic.

McLane Global, a division of Temple-based McLane Group, the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty and the USDA have partnered on their "Meals to You" program.

The program will deliver meals to children who normally receive two meals a day at school but are not served well by grab-and-go individual meals.

The collaboration will package and deliver boxes of food directly to a child's home. The packages will contain shelf-stable meals and last for two weeks.

The company says this will allow them to deliver food to tens of thousands of children in rural America.
