AUSTIN, TX — According to KXAN, Travis County Commissioners are considering an ordinance Tuesday that would require face masks at dedicated county facilities and potentially charge those who refuse with trespassing.

The ordinance clearly states that the criminal charges would be the last resort for those who refuse to wear a mask and those who refuse to leave.

The county does state they will have masks available for those who either forgot their mask or don’t have one.

There are medical exceptions for those with trouble breathing, and the county will make different services available over the phone or online.

The vote is scheduled to take place near the end of the voting session on Tuesday.
