HEMPSTEAD, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for the public's help in locating a man they say is responsible for a crash that killed a woman and her unborn child.

According to DPS, on 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 37-year-old Angel Aviles-Perez of Sealy was speeding southbound on FM-359, south of FM-3346 near Hempstead, when he crashed into the back of a 2001 Buick Century, which was parked on the southbound shoulder and performing motorist assistance.

The Buick then crashed into the back of a 2012 Honda Accord, who was also assisting. The Accord then crashed into the back of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that was disabled on the shoulder.

Two men who were also in the Buick were also injured in the crash.

DPS says Avilez-Perez is wanted for felony charges of manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
