WACO, TEXAS — A man raised in Central Texas created a sports app that took years to develop.

"I wanted to do something in sports, but I just did not know quite what I wanted to do yet," said Dexter Talbert.

Talbert says it took him about three years to complete the app from beginning to end.

With some help along the way, this self-taught app developer released Fanwagon to the market in 2016.

The app lets you make a friendly, free bet on sporting events that day.

"If a game is on and it has not been played yet, you can select the game and pick a team and invite them and can engage in a bet. It's a free bet, it's just for fun and we can chat and get points. When the bet is over, the loser has the option to gift you a gift of your choosing."

Recently, Tablet has worked hard to build partnerships with restaurants like Mexicano Grill in Hewitt, Backyard Saloon, and many more in progress.

Talbert says the project continues to grow with time and effort, something he takes pride in.

"Gives you that feeling of success, I did this and it did not exist at one point in time," Talbert said. "It only existed in my mind and then I created it so it makes you want to keep going and gives you confidence in life."
