MCLENNAN COUNTY — The City of West is telling people to boil their water effective immediately. The city sent out a public notice saying that there was a water line break, leading to pressure loss in the water system.

"To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use," the notice said.

The notice takes effect immediately, and is applicable from the 400 block of North Main Street to the 200 block of South Main Street. No information is known about when the notice will end.
