WEST, TX — The Westfest Board of Directors in conjunction with the City of West Mayor have decided to cancel Westfest 2020.

The cancelation comes after Texas sees a surge in COVID-19 cases after reopening in phases.

On their Facebook page, Westfest officials say, “After exhausting every option, it is with deep regret that we must inform you that Westfest 2020 is canceled.”

They go on to say they are hopeful for Westfest 2021 and thanked all their volunteers, vendors, bands, exhibitors, and sponsors.

Westfest was founded in 1976 to raise funds for a variety of projects, including various athletic facilities for youth groups, senior citizen activities, a community center, library and other civic and cultural programs.

To date, Westfest has raised over $986,000 dollars for the community.

If you have any further concerns or questions please contact any Westfest Director or the Mayor.
