MOODY, TX — The Best Donuts and Kolaches in Moody are continuing to stay open for the community.
Between their classic glazed donut and sausage jalapeno kolache, it's loved by the entire community. The donut shop has been a staple for many residents for years.
Most residents visit the shop frequently.
"Usually I'm through here about twice a week, sometimes more," Linda Ewing said. "But if you count all the family members we're represented here pretty much every day."
It's hard for Ewing to not stop by when she gets a sweet tooth, and it's always a plus to see the Hou family too.
"They're local they're handy, and they're friendly people," Ewing said.
Amandine Hou runs the business with her mom and brother, even in a town where there isn't much they stay open for their regulars.
"Sometimes their drive at 5 o'clock in the morning, there's nothing that's open, so we wanna be here,' Hou said.
No matter what is happening in the world, everyone still has to eat.
"We're able to feed them, and its really awesome because in time of crisis, you're still hungry," Hou said.
There have been many times they've donated food to local events and churches, and they're hoping that the community can now be there for them.
"When you're in a small town, you actually create connections, and you know your people," Hou said.
Ewing has always supported local, and she will especially now more than ever.
"I know everybody's having to sacrifice but we're trying to keep the business going as much as we can," Ewing said.
Best Donuts and Kolaches in Moody is open 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. 7 days a week.
