WACO, TX — UPDATE:
The Waco Police Department released the identity of the driver that died in the crash as 55-year-old Debby Lynn Lopez. Her family has been notified.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Thursday evening shortly after 8 pm, Waco Police Officers were sent to the 5400 Blk of W. Lakeshore Dr. for a serious traffic collision.
After officers arrived on the scene, they learned that a Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on Lakeshore Dr. when the vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel, striking a black GMC Yukon.
The driver of the Yukon received minor injuries however the 55-year-old female driver of the Ford pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and received serious injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Peterson.
The name of the victim in this crash will be released at a later time.
