WACO, TX — On Dec 18., Waco PD Special Crimes Division's lead detective was able to obtain an arrest warrant charging 26-year old Berry Freeman of Waco with Murder.

Due to Freeman currently being in McLennan County Jail for a Parole warrant, investigators were able to add this Murder warrant to his booking.

This follows the shooting victim, 33-year old Bryan Johnson, being identified Dec 15. after Waco PD responded that evening to shots fired in the 1900 BLK JJ Flewellen.

Officers found Johnson with a gunshot wound to the head; they were unable to successfully perform CPR on him.

"We are thankful for the hard work that has been done in this case and glad that some closure can begin for Mr. Johnson's family." Officer Garen Bynum wrote in a public information release Dec 18.
