WACO, TX — The Waco Independent School District is offering free summer meal programs.

COVID-19 has impacted families, causing many to wonder how they can afford their next meal. That need increases during the summer for students who rely on free or reduced school meals.

The district is sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program to provide free breakfast and lunch to any child ages one to 18-years-old.

The sites will be open at varies times from June 1 through August 12, Monday through Friday, with the exception of Friday, July 3. An extra breakfast and lunch will also be given out on Fridays for Saturdays and Sundays.

Throughout June, Waco ISD will provide a snack and dinner each day as well as a snack and dinner for Saturday and Sunday, which will be handed out on Fridays.

The district says meals will not be served before or after the scheduled serving times, and mealtimes and dates are subject to change.
