Waco firefighters respond to fire at Sonoco Flexible Packaging building

WACO, TX — The Waco Fire Department said a fire broke out at the Sonoco Flexible Packaging building Monday morning.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. at 6501 Texas Central Parkway.

The fire department said a fire alarm alerted them to the active fire in the building.

The fire started from a machine that makes film used for packaging materials. The fire was contained to the one machine and was put out with extinguishers.

Crews from the fire department were on scene for about two and a half hours due to all the smoke in the building. The fire department said the smoke was the main concern.

No one was hurt from the fire.
