Man able to make it out safely after duplex fire on Algonquin Avenue

WACO, TX — A man was able to make it out safely after a fire at a duplex Thursday.

According to the Waco Fire Department, around 4:37 p.m., crews received a call for smoke coming from the roof of a duplex in the 1800 block of Algonquin Avenue near North 18th Street.

The call was upgraded five minutes later due to the amount of calls.

One man was inside at the time of the fire, but he was able to make it out safely.

The Red Cross will be assisting the homeowners.
