Several agencies worked to contain a brush fire in which eight houses, an apartment complex, and a residential circle area were saved.
The fire was also located relatively near the Motiva Enterprises LLC gas plant on 420 South Lacy Drive. The large brush fire got close to the property but was contained, said the Lacy Lakeview Fire Department.
The call for the fire came in at about 2:45 p.m. and 30 personnel responded on the scene, according to Lacy Lakeview fire. While the fire is now contained, personnel are still patrolling and will be working on hot spot areas all night.
The fire impacted 14.2 acres according to the forestry service.
No cause of the fire has been determined at this time, and the Lacy Lakeview Fire Department said no injuries have been reported either.
