WACO, TX — A Waco church has created a memorial in honor of 2-year-old Frankie Gonzales and all other victims of violence.

Frankie's body was found in a dumpster behind Park Lake Drive Baptist Church on June 2 one day after his mother, Laura Villalon also known as Laura Sanchez, reported him missing.

Both Villalon and Frankie's father Lorenzo Gonzales have been arrested in connection to the child's death.

The memorial was dedicated in a private ceremony with Frankie's family on Thursday and designed to be a place of reflection and prayer.

The church is asking any donations of stuffed animals to be made to CASA of McLennan County. It is also asking visitors to not leave candles due to the wax that eventually spills onto the concrete.
