WACO, TX — Two men were arrested by Waco police for a drive by shooting over the weekend.

Rajun Lionell Thornton and Latrayl Milton were each charged with unlawfully carrying and weapon and discharge of a firearm in a municipality.

Police say they responded on Feb. 8 around 1:45 p.m. to reports of shots fired near the 3400 block of Mitchell Ave.

Witnesses said a maroon Grand Marquis had shot out of their vehicle before driving away.

According to police, several calls were made about this vehicle, with another report on 38th and Fredricks.

Officers recovered shell cases from both the Mitchell Ave. scene and the Fredrick Ave scene.

Waco police say officers spotted the suspected vehicle, and conducted a "high risk stop" on the 2300 block of Sanger.

Four people were taken into custody, two adults and two juveniles.

Police said a handgun and ammunition were found in the car.

Rajun Lionell Thornton and Latrayl Milton are being held on a total of a half million dollars bond each.
