WACO, TX — The winter blast has kept staff at Tow King in Waco busy all day Thursday as crews respond to call after call for crashes throughout McLennan County.

"We've got all hands on deck. Everybody that's available we have on. Any guys that are off are encouraged to come in when there's something going on," said Gary Hoffman, owner of Tow King.

On Wednesday, TxDOt began treating roadways for the winter weather.

"And then Saturday night, our crews will be shifting to 24-hour operations, so our hardworking crews are out there making sure the roadways are as safe as possible," said Jake Smith with TxDOT Waco District.

Crews with Tow King urge anyone who has been in a crash to stay in their car, as getting out is dangerous.

"If you're standing in the road, even if you're trying to help somebody else, those other people may not be able to see you and if they lose control, they will hit you and then you're a casualty of the original accident," said Smith.
