WACO, TX — It's the time of giving, and one local organization is determined to help hundreds of families during the holiday season.

"It's one of the hardest times during the holiday for some people," said Tai'Resha Proctor, executive director of The Bold & Beautiful.

Growing up, Proctor learned that giving back to her community is essential, so it became a foundation in her life.

"It's important to me because that's what I was raised on. You know it was instilled in me as a child, and even with my grandmother, she taught me to serve no matter what I am doing, find a way to serve," said Proctor.

In 2016, Proctor launched The Bold & Beautiful, an organization that empowers women who are self-starters.

"Personal growth, business development, and becoming the bold and beautiful women that we were called to be," she said.

This year, she took on a new challenge. The organization is hoping to give a helping hand to hundreds of families in need.

"What we are trying to do is uplift them, encourage them, and assist them a little and lift something off of their shoulders," said Proctor.

The group is providing bags of non-perishable food items to help families prepare a meal during the holiday season.

"It's a non-judgment zone. We are not here for that. We all need help, and we are in this pandemic together," said Proctor.

Proctor says she has one message for everyone.

"Be bold, be beautiful, be giving," she said.

"A Day of Giving" is taking place Saturday, November 21 at the Veterans Memorial Park. It starts 10:30 a.m, and will be a drive-thru event. Everyone must wear a mask and social distance.

If you would like to donate or volunteer, message the Bold and Beautiful on Facebook.

They have four drop-off sites. Three are in Waco and one in Bryan.
