WACO — Local artist Big Binky and his team are holding the 10th annual Big Binky School Supply Drive, giving back to one student at a time.
Supplying children and their families backpacks, supplies, shoes and lunch for a decade, Big Binky says it's his way of giving back to the community he grew up in.
"You know being from East Waco, you know, it had its ups and downs in terms of money and getting the things that we need," said Binky.
Saving all year around with a small group of friends and family, Big Binky supplies hundreds of families with school necessities.
One of the many families the Big Binky Foundation helps is the Hall Family; Yokika Hall, mother to four kids says Binky is a life saver to the Waco community.
"I appreciate everything that he has done because it helps the community," said Hall.
"If you're needing a backpack or your kids needing a pair of shoes for school, or supplies, please come," said Binky.
The 10th annual drive will be held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Carver Middle School on Saturday September 5, 2020.
Backpacks, supplies, shoes and a BBQ meal will be supplied. This year the drive will be drive-up and masks are required by those in the car.
