If you are seeing a lot of people wearing blue in the past few weeks, it is for a very special cause.
Students from West ISD and Midway ISD have been wearing blue for Jessica Taylor. Jessica had an accident on Feb. 17.
Jessica was riding her skateboard and took a really hard fall. Her sister, Rachael, said that she has had major surgery to repair two subdural hematomas and also has a skull fracture.
On Tuesday, her sister updated the community, saying Jessica was having better responses than she has had before. She said her eyes are more responsive, and she is smacking her mouth.
"They did a CT this morning and there was nothing new so that is good. They just weaned her sedation to half of what she was on so we will see how she does today. Thank you all for everything," she said.
People from all over the community have been sharing images of them in their blue in honor of Jessica.
There is a GoFundMe up to help with the family's medical expenses.
